CBS-4 RA / CBS-4 RAL Relay Description

The CBS-4 RA or CBS-4 RAL is a unit equivalent to 4 residual current protection relays, with 4 independent programmable relays available. The device features:

• 4 inputs to connect the external toroidal transformers of the WG / WGS / WGC series.
• Self-reclosing with programmable residual current trip in each channel.
• Superimmunized Type A relay with high-frequency current filtering and high immunity, monitoring in true root mean square (TRMS).
• Reduced size: 3 modules.

The device has 5 independent programmable outputs:

• 4 residual current trip outputs
• 1 end-of-reclosing-sequence interlocking output

It also includes a backlit display to show the information of the 4 channels, including:

• Adjustment values
• Instantaneous leakage current
• Trip/external reset input

Other features include:

• Automatic test of the connection and status of each external transformer.
• Optional RS-485 communications: type CBS-4C RA and CBS-4C RAL.
• Assembly on DIN rail 46277 (EN-50022).
• Optional assembly on a 72 x 72 panel with accessory M5ZZF1.

Applications

The CBS-4 RA or CBS-4 RAL relays enable intelligent residual current protection in a compact design. With one contactor per channel, they allow automatic reclosure after a trip, making them ideal for:

• Public lighting
• Cash machines (ATMs)
• Refrigeration chambers
• Traffic lights

In addition, the version with RS-485 communications (CBS-4 C) can be used with the Power Studio software for centralized real-time supervision, along with a record log that can be analyzed later.
